How I Can Help You
Counselling and How Can I help?
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Counselling can help with : Anxiety, depression, life changing events, loss, grief, relationships, retirement, self-esteem, pain management, spirituality, finding your mojo and stress.
Coaching or Counselling
If you feel that you don’t wish to dwell on the past but would like to concentrate on plans for your future, I can provide a coaching service which will help you to clarify your goals in life and positive steps to reaching them.
About me and my therapy practice
If only we could empty our heads, tidy up our thoughts and then carry on with life.
Time and space can help us to get the same result. I welcome each client as a unique human being, to use therapy to bring change into their life. When we slow down and give ourselves care and attention, we can begin to unclutter our minds. Our feelings can change along with behaviours and beliefs that could be holding us back in life.
Some people talk, others find it useful to explore their life in words, pictures or music. I have been trained in several techniques and we can decide together what is best for you.
It takes courage to contact a therapist. I would like to assure you that the space I create is one of caring, respect and is non-judgemental. A place to be yourself. When this happens, it begins a process of self-discovery and brings opportunities for change. Serious conversations happen in therapy but there are also times of laughter, joy and celebration.
Feeling overwhelmed with too much to handle, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, work issues, retiring or unhelpful thoughts and behaviours are issues which are all too common. You can deal with these in the unique way, which only you are able to do and be stronger, braver and happier.
If my way of thinking is similar to yours, please contact me for an informal discussion.
Counselling and Ways of working
I integrate a range of different types of counselling and therapy depending on the individual needs of my clients, including Person Centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt, Phenomenological and art therapy.
Neuroscience and The Mind Body Connection
I first became interested in the workings of the mind after embarking on a course called ‘Life By Design’. This grew into a study of the link between the body and the mind, and I began to search for a way to alleviate the symptoms for my chronic migraine. I have read extensively around this subject and continue to attend CPD courses on topics such as the Polyvagal Theory. The affects our thoughts have on our behaviour and physical health is fascinating and I enjoy exploring theories and passing on my knowledge to clients.
